Hypnotherapy and meditation are both a form of behavior modification support which is paired with a combination of epi-genetics and behavioral neuroscience.
Both approaches consist of switching from one natural state to another yet with more intention. They are designed to bring deep relaxation while shifting gears in order to overcome blockages or reach desired goals.
These are also holistic approaches which connects an individual with their mind, body and feelings by offering “permanent” life changes and shifts.

A stage hypnotist provides entertainment at venues and performs for an audience to lightly show how powerful the subconscious mind through goofy acts. I assure you that you will not be quacking like a duck in sessions with me.
A hypnotist has not received clinical training and may still be a great resource to help in lighter areas. A hypnotist may not be able to go into deeper issues unless the person also has a medical and/or clinical team in place.
A hypnotherapist is automatically a hypnotist but has also received extensive therapy-based training in addition to being clinically licensed to provide therapy support.
A clinical hypnotherapist such as myself, can provide in-depth hypnosis for light, medium and heavy issues. As mentioned before, none of my work is for entertainment purpose, so no clucking or quacking will occur, I assure you.
**Michelle does not provide stage hypnosis. Her hypnosis is strictly for healing, recovery and achieving treatment goals for each client.

No, you are actually in complete control when hypnotized. In fact, there is an even heightened sense of awareness when in hypnosis.
Hypnosis can be described as a heightened learning state where an individual is more open to suggestions.
In therapy, we use positive suggestions that allow progress towards a desired change. This is very different from “mind control,” which is a popular myth about hypnosis.

This depends on your presenting issue. Per the California Business & Professions Code Section 2908, hypnotic techniques can be used to offer avocational or vocational self-improvement.
For emotional/mental disorders or medical conditions, a referral from a licensed clinician in medicine, psychology, or dentistry may be required.
If you are a California resident where I am currently a licensed clinician, you may not need a referral but that still depends on the level of seriousness of the issue at hand.
